College + Writing

Making a Difference

Currently in its third year, four sections of our College Writing II course are organized in partnership with the federally-funded, education-focused organization Gear Up so that students in these sections move through a series of structured activities in collaborative groups composed of their peers and juniors from Lowell High School. During this project, these groups discuss their ideas about college, the realities of applying to and succeeding in college, and the strategies they use when citing, quoting, and annotating sources.
